Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program
Our SEAL Program offers gifted and high-potential students, who are motivated and academically advanced, the opportunity to be involved in a program that enriches their learning experience whilst also enhancing their intellectual potential and development. Our Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program (SEAL) is accredited with The Academy of Accredited SEAL Schools (TAASS).
Students involved in our SEAL Program in Years 7 to 9 are provided with an extended range of options in their final years of schooling, such as additional VCE subjects or Enhancement Studies. This not only enhances the potential to achieve a greater Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), but also improves the transition to University studies.
The SEAL students amongst our recent graduating class achieved the following outstanding results:
- Average ATAR of 93.1
- 30% of ATAR scores were 95 or above
- 76% of ATAR scores were 90 or above
- 87% of ATAR scores were 89 or above
- Median study score of 35
- 20% of study scores over 40
Students in the SEAL Program are learning at the edge of their ability. In order to establish integral lifelong learning skills, high challenge and failure are often experienced. From challenge and failure comes a resilience to understand what it means to not succeed in your first attempt and the striving to learn and take the next step. These qualities of high-challenge, building resilience and developing independent learning skills are integral to the development of your child as a learner in the SEAL Program. There is also an expectation that they are fully immersed and participate in all aspects of College life, such as the instrumental music, performing arts, sporting endeavours and a variety of other extra-curricular activities that are on offer.
The College is running an Information Session about our SEAL, CNED and Language Immersion programs on Monday 2nd March in the College Library, commencing at 5:30pm. Please register your interest for the SEAL program here – https://forms.gle/1KW78eUXQwZB7k2T6
